Jamie Reagan Takes on His Most Dangerous Assignment
The final season opened with Sgt. Jamie Reagan embarking on one of his riskiest undercover missions yet, infiltrating a human trafficking operation.
To make the role convincing, actor Will Estes even changed his appearance.
“We wanted Jamie to look completely unlike himself,” Estes recalled, joking that he was instructed to stop shaving and grow enough facial hair to shed his clean-cut image.
The assignment also created tension within the Reagan family, as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan struggled to separate his duties as NYPD commissioner from his instincts as a father.
Tom Selleck explained that internal conflict has always defined Frank.
“Frank constantly balances his responsibility as commissioner with his responsibility as a parent.”
