Sydnie Christmas Makes Surprise Appearance at BOOP! The Musical’s Broadway Debut and Fans Are Saying She’s Bigger Than Just a BGT Winner
The opening night of BOOP! The Musical on Saturday, April 5, brought out some major talent — including a surprise appearance by rising star Sydnie Christmas.
The Britain’s Got Talent winner joined Grammy-winning composer David Foster and singer Loren Allred at the star-studded Broadway debut, turning heads with her radiant presence and signature charm. While the night was a celebration of Betty Boop and Broadway magic, Sydnie’s appearance felt like something more — a signal that she’s stepping confidently into a new chapter beyond the BGT spotlight.

On Instagram, the powerhouse vocalist shared her excitement, writing:
“START SPREADING THE NEWS! 📢 @boopthemusical has arrived on Broadway and it was the best way to celebrate arriving in the Big Apple! 💋👠
Huge congratulations to everyone involved but especially my girl @jasmine_amy_r, who is absolutely SENSATIONAL and bloomin’ STAR on that stage, and the man of the hour @davidfoster ⭐️ I had the best company in the world for the night 🫶 How beautiful does my girl @lorenallred look? 😍
It was such a brilliant evening and there really isn’t anything like the magic of live theatre ✨ There is so much that goes into putting on a show of this magnitude on, I’m still bowled what they achieved on that stage 🥹
It was the perfect way to get my head in the game for the exciting few days I have coming up as I prepare for my HEADLINE GIG at the @sonyhall THIS Tuesday 🤍”
Sydnie’s bond with David Foster is no secret. The two shared the stage last year at the Hollywood Bowl for Foster’s birthday celebration — a special night where Sydnie wowed the crowd with her vocals in front of thousands. Their reunion at BOOP! shows just how far she’s come in a short time, and how respected she is by some of the biggest names in music.
With her Sony Hall headline show around the corner and growing international recognition, Sydnie is showing the world that she’s not just a talent show winner — she’s an artist to watch.
Here’s what to know about BOOP! — David’s first Broadway show
BOOP! is David’s first Broadway show. In March, he opened up about making of the musical, explaining that he first contacted animation pioneer and Betty Boop creator Max Fleischer about building a show around the character 15 years ago.
“It’s been so long in the making,” David said. “They came along, and it was just right in the right in the right time in my life, when I was like, ‘I need a new challenge. I want to move the goalpost. This seems like the right move for me.’ ”
The score features lyrics by Susan Birkenhead and a book by Tony Award-winning scribe Bob Martin. Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, meanwhile, directs and choreographs.
Leading BOOP! as the title character is 26-year-old Jasmine Amy Rogers, in her Broadway debut.
She’s joined by Tony winner Faith Prince (as Valentina), Ainsley Melham (as Dwayne), Erich Bergen (as Raymond), Stephen DeRosa (as Grampy), Anastacia McCleskey (as Carol), Angelica Hale (as Trisha), Phillip Huber (as Pudgy the Dog) and Aubie Merrylees (as Oscar).
The cast is completed by Lawrence Alexander, Courtney Arango, Colin Bradbury, Tristen Buettel, Joshua Michael Burrage, Victoria Byrd, Dan Castiglione, Rebecca Corrigan, Ian Gallagher Fitzgerald, RJ Higton, Nina Lafarga, Morgan McGhee, Ryah Nixon, Christian Probst, Ricky Schroeder, Gabriella Sorrentino, Derek Jordan Taylor, Lizzy Tucker, Amy Van Norstrand, Damani Van Rensalier and David Wright Jr.
