CBS has unveiled the first photos and official episode descriptions for the final two episodes of Blue Bloods, giving fans an emotional preview of how the long-running police drama will come to an end.
The final episodes, titled “Entitlement” and “End of Tour,” will air on Friday, Dec. 6, and Friday, Dec. 13, respectively. The two-part farewell promises high-stakes action, emotional moments, and one last Reagan family dinner.
A funeral raises new questions
Among the newly released images is a funeral for a fallen police officer, confirming comments previously made by Len Cariou, who revealed earlier this season that the series finale would include a funeral.
The photos, however, leave one major mystery unanswered: whose funeral is it?
Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) and New York City Mayor Peter Chase (Dylan Walsh) are both shown hospitalized in separate images, while Eddie’s partner, Luis Badillo (Ian Quinlan), is noticeably absent from the funeral scenes. Eddie is seated beside Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and the mayor, prompting fans to wonder whether Badillo could be the officer being honored.
What happens in “Entitlement”?
After taking Thanksgiving week off, Blue Bloods returns on Dec. 6 with “Entitlement.”
The official synopsis reads:
Eddie and Badillo help a man whose apartment has been taken over by a squatter who also happens to be Jamie Reagan’s (Will Estes) confidential informant. Meanwhile, Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigate the death of a star student found in her dorm room. Elsewhere, Frank becomes suspicious when the governor presents him with a proposal, while Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) tries to play matchmaker for Anthony Abetemarco (Steve Schirripa).
The series finale: “End of Tour”
The final episode raises the stakes even higher as the Reagan family faces one last citywide crisis.
According to the official description:
It’s all hands on deck for the Reagan family as they race to stop deadly chaos after New York City’s gangs unite to demand amnesty for imprisoned members and those awaiting trial.
The finale also features guest appearances from Oscar nominee Edward James Olmos and television personality Amanda Kloots, both of whom appear in the newly released promotional photos.
One final family dinner
No Blue Bloods farewell would be complete without the Reagan family gathering around the dinner table one last time. The iconic family dinner, a tradition throughout the show’s 14-season run, will return for the series finale.
Both of the final episodes will run for one hour, with “End of Tour” serving as the 293rd and final episode of the beloved CBS drama.
Len Cariou reflects on saying goodbye
Cariou recently reflected on filming the show’s final scenes, revealing that the cast’s last day on set felt surprisingly ordinary.
“The last scene, of course, was at a funeral, and so we weren’t even in the house the day that we wrapped it up,” he said. “It was kind of strange in that sense—just like any other day. We’d already gotten used to saying our goodbyes.”
The veteran actor admitted the emotions didn’t fully hit until the cast reunited weeks later for the launch of the show’s final episodes.
“We all got together for the wrap-up, for the launch of the last eight shows, and that was bittersweet,” Cariou said. “I thought we’d already said our goodbyes, and then suddenly everyone was back in the room together. That made it a little difficult for me.”
As Blue Bloods prepares to sign off after 14 seasons, the final two episodes promise an emotional farewell for both the Reagan family and the devoted fans who have followed their journey for more than a decade.
