Amy Morton joined Blue Bloods in Season 3, Episode 20, playing Amanda Harris, the Bureau Chief at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. At first, she seemed like a strong ally for Erin Reagan , even offering Erin a promotion to Deputy Bureau Chief.
But that trust didn’t last long.
Erin soon uncovers that Harris knowingly ignored a verified alibi in a previous case, pushing forward charges against the defendant as a repeat offender. Staying true to her principles, Erin reopens the case and cracks start to show in Harris’ reputation.
By Season 4, Harris’ corruption is fully exposed. In the season finale, viewers learn she conspired with madam Ilene Clayton, sending sex workers to influential men including a congressman and NYPD Chief of Department Dino Arbogast and blackmailing them. Erin uncovers the entire scheme, leading to Harris’ arrest. Morton’s run on Blue Bloods ends there, after five episodes.
Although her time on the CBS drama was short, Amy Morton has hardly disappeared from television. The same year she exited Blue Bloods, she joined NBC’s Chicago P.D. as Sergeant Trudy Platt-McHolland. She has since appeared in over 200 episodes, becoming one of the franchise’s most recognizable and longest-running cast members.
So while Amanda Harris left Blue Bloods in handcuffs, fans can still catch Morton serving justice
this time on Chicago P.D.
