On Monday night, Boston Blue star and NKOTB singer Donnie Wahlberg was spotted grabbing dinner at Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus.

A well known Massachusetts native singer and actor Donnie Wahlberg stopped by one of the North Shore’s most iconic spots this week. Wahlberg visited the legendary Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus on Monday night, Dec. 8, where he was treated to “rounds of Chinese cuisine,” according to a restaurant spokesperson.

The Boston Blue star happily posed for photos with guests and staff, including a snapshot with longtime employee Donna that Kowloon later shared on Facebook with the caption, “Thank you for taking a picture with Kowloon’s own Donna!” Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, the Route 1 landmark welcomed Wahlberg warmly and invited him to return anytime he’s in the area.

Wahlberg, who grew up in Dorchester alongside his eight siblings including actor Mark Wahlberg and chef Paul Wahlberg of the Wahlburgers restaurant chain first rose to fame as a member of the chart topping boy band New Kids on the Block. Formed in 1984, the group dominated the late ’80s and early ’90s with hits like “You Got It,” “Hangin’ Tough,” and “Step by Step.”

He later transitioned into acting, building an impressive résumé with roles in Blue Bloods, The Sixth Sense, Dreamcatcher, Righteous Kill, Ransom, Zookeeper, and the Saw franchise. From 2014 to 2019, he also produced and starred in the Emmy nominated reality series Wahlburgers, alongside his family.

Wahlberg now stars as NYPD detective Danny Reagan in Boston Blue, which follows his character as he joins the Boston Police Department and works to reconnect with his younger son. The series airs on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
