Fans have known for a while that Blue Bloods would end with season 14, but if you watched the May 17 episode, “The Heart of a Saturday Night,” and thought it was the series finale don’t panic. The Reagans will be back.
That episode was only the midseason finale. Tom Selleck and the rest of the Reagan family will return this fall for the final stretch of episodes as part of CBS’s 2024 primetime schedule. While CBS hasn’t confirmed an exact premiere date yet, Blue Bloods will hold onto its usual Friday 10 p.m. ET/PT time slot.
CBS first announced in November 2023 that season 14 would be the show’s last, and that it would air in two parts. The split gives the long-running drama a proper goodbye
something other recently canceled series, like The Good Doctor and Station 19, didn’t get due to shortened orders following the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
The first half of season 14 aired ten episodes between February and May, and fans can likely expect a similar episode count when the series returns.
Executive producer Kevin Wade emphasized that the final season is designed to honor the show’s legacy. “CBS Studios and the CBS Television Network encouraged us to tell our stories in multi-layered narratives that have resonated with millions of people,” he said. “We look forward to giving fans an exciting and emotionally satisfying final season, and we are forever grateful for their enthusiasm and loyalty.”
