Donnie Wahlberg Shares Sweet Message About His Wife Jenny McCarthy

Donnie Wahlberg Calls Wife Jenny McCarthy His ‘Favorite Girl’ in Heartfelt Tribute

Donnie Wahlberg is giving credit where it’s due: to his biggest cheerleader, wife Jenny McCarthy.

Reflecting on the period after his long-running series Blue Bloods was canceled, Wahlberg shared how McCarthy helped him see the potential for a fresh start what would eventually become the spinoff Boston Blue.

“I remember when Jenny got the call for The Masked Singer and was like, ‘I don’t know. Is this going to work?’” Wahlberg told Country Living. “I said, ‘That’s going to be huge!’ She looked at it again and said, ‘Really?’ And I said, ‘Yes.’ That’s how we are.”

He continued, “When Boston Blue came along, she said, ‘You must do this.’ I was hesitant, thinking, ‘I could still try to save Blue Bloods.’ She said, ‘You have to give it a try.’ She’s incredibly supportive.”

This year, the couple celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary, marking over a decade of mutual devotion.

Wahlberg gushed about McCarthy’s unwavering support: “I don’t know if I can answer how she’s supported me as much as I can answer how much which is a million, billion percent. In every way, she’s my confidant, my cheerleader, my supporter. She says she’ll hold my kite strings and let me fly.”

He added, “There are times when I hold her kite strings and let her fly, and when she comes down for landing, I’m right there as her support on the ground. That’s just what we do for each other.”

To celebrate and reaffirm their bond, the couple renews their vows annually. McCarthy explained last year, “Our pastor reminisces about the year and gives us something to reflect on. There is something really special about it.”

On maintaining a strong partnership, McCarthy said in 2023, “Anything that you need to work on will come out in your relationship. We’ve always been willing to do the work when challenges arise, and that really makes all the difference.”

Wahlberg added that their journey has been both fun and intentional as they balance careers and family life, raising three sons between them. “We have a lot of fun, but we work for it. The most work we put into anything is our relationship and our family,” he shared.

He also reflected on the joys of family time during his work commitments. “While I was performing in Vegas with my band, Jenny and I got to spend a lot of time with my boys and my stepson Evan. Amid all the work and craziness, that family time was probably the most special it’s ever been,” Wahlberg said.

Gratitude plays a central role in how he manages his busy life. “As long as I operate from a place of gratitude, I’ll be happy. The minute I can’t stop and appreciate all of this is the minute it’s not fun anymore. I get to do all the things I love, and this year has been more fulfilling than any other.”

Wahlberg emphasized that it’s not just about acting or performing. “It’s about connecting with people and bringing happiness to them. It’s what I’ve tried to do since I was a little boy heal broken hearts.”

For Wahlberg, the couple’s shared devotion to their family, their work, and to each other is what holds everything together.
