CBS has officially set the premiere date for Boston Blue, the long-awaited Blue Bloods spinoff. The new series will debut on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, picking up Danny Reagan’s story as he starts a bold new chapter in a new city. Donnie Wahlberg returns to lead the cast, reprising his iconic role as Danny.
Season one introduces an impressive ensemble: Sonequa Martin-Green as Lena Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, and Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan. Gloria Reuben portrays Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson stars as Reverend Edwin Peters.
Episode 1 Plot
In the series premiere, NYPD Detective Danny Reagan partners with Boston Detective Lena Silver to investigate a deadly fire at a tech company. Their case quickly escalates as they uncover a tangled web of secrets involving cutting-edge facial-recognition technology, hidden family connections, and a pursuit for justice that intertwines the Reagan and Silver families.
The episode is directed by Anthony Hemingway and based on a story by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier.
