Fans have known for some time that Blue Bloods season 14 would be the final chapter of the beloved CBS drama. But if you watched the May 17 episode, “The Heart of a Saturday Night,” and assumed it was the series finale good news. The Reagans aren’t gone yet.
That episode served only as the midseason finale. Tom Selleck and the rest of the Reagan family will return this fall for their last run as part of CBS’s 2024 primetime lineup. While an exact premiere date hasn’t been announced, the series will remain in its longtime home: Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
CBS first confirmed in November 2023 that season 14 would be the show’s last and revealed it would air in two parts. The split allows the series to wrap up its story on its own terms something other recent finales, like The Good Doctor and Station 19, weren’t able to do due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
The first half of season 14 delivered 10 episodes between February and May, and fans can likely expect a similar count when the show returns.
“CBS Studios and the CBS Television Network encouraged us to tell our stories in multi-layered narratives that have gone on to resonate with millions of people,” executive producer Kevin Wade said when the split was announced. “We look forward to giving fans an exciting and emotionally satisfying final season, and we are forever grateful for their enthusiasm and loyalty.”
So while Reagan family dinners are on hold for now, they’ll be back
and their final chapter is still ahead.
