In an exclusive interview with PopCulture.com, Blue Bloods star Steve Schirripa couldn’t say enough good things about co-star Bridget Moynahan, describing her as “very underrated.” Schirripa, who plays Detective Anthony Abetemarco alongside Moynahan’s A.D.A. Erin Reagan, praised her professionalism, knowledge, and her recent work behind the camera as a director on the series.
Calling Moynahan “always prepared,” Schirripa said her meticulous approach makes his job easier and allows him to focus solely on his performance. He also reflected on how their characters’ dynamic has evolved over the past seven years, noting that Anthony often serves as a mentor to Erin. Their contrasting backgrounds, he explained, are a big part of what gives their on-screen partnership such natural chemistry.
Schirripa also pointed out that his character fills a unique space on the show, often working with major players outside of the Reagan family. Though he rarely shares scenes with Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan, he expressed excitement for upcoming moments involving Abigail Baker, played by Abigail Hawk.
