All good things must eventually come to an end, and for the beloved police procedural Blue Bloods, that moment has arrived. The long
running CBS drama starring Tom Selleck is currently in its 14th and final season, with the second half premiering October 18 at 10 p.m. ET.
As the series prepares to say goodbye, the cast recently reunited at PaleyFest 2024 to reflect on the show’s remarkable run and the deep bonds formed over more than a decade on air.
Tom Selleck, who has portrayed Police Commissioner Frank Reagan since the series debuted in 2010, spoke candidly about what he will miss most. “The people behind the scenes,” he shared. “It’s hard to let go because coming to work was a joy.” Selleck also expressed gratitude to CBS for honoring the show’s legacy, noting its continued success as one of the network’s top rated programs.
Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan, echoed those sentiments, highlighting how closely connected the cast and crew became over the years. “We’ve had babies, divorces, and deaths together,” she said. “We’ve done it together.”
Donnie Wahlberg, who stars as Danny Reagan, reflected on the countless memories made along the way. “Every single moment,” he said, will be missed from the laughter shared on set to the meaningful time spent with Selleck, whom he affectionately referred to as “Dad.”
Since its premiere in 2010, Blue Bloods has followed Frank Reagan and his family as they navigate the complexities of law enforcement in New York City while facing personal challenges and loss. Now, as the series draws to a close after 14 seasons, the cast looks back not only on a successful television run, but on a family forged through years of shared stories, struggles, and triumphs.
