CBS is set to launch the Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue on Friday, October 17, 2025, airing at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The new series continues the story of Danny Reagan following his move to Boston, with Donnie Wahlberg reprising his iconic role.
Season 1 also stars Sonequa Martin
Green as Detective Lena Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, and Mika Amonsen as Danny’s son, Sean Reagan. The ensemble cast is rounded out by Gloria Reuben as district attorney Mae Silver and Ernie Hudson as Reverend Edwin Peters.
Episode 1 Plot
In the series premiere, NYPD Detective Danny Reagan joins forces with Boston detective Lena Silver to investigate a deadly fire at a tech company. Their search for the truth uncovers a tangled web involving facial recognition technology, family loyalties, and long buried secrets drawing the Reagan and Silver families closer together in the pursuit of justice.
The premiere episode is directed by Anthony Hemingway from a story by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier.
Boston Blue Series Description
Donnie Wahlberg returns as NYPD detective Danny Reagan in an expansion of the long running hit drama Blue Bloods. In Boston Blue, Reagan accepts a position with the Boston Police Department, where he is partnered with Detective Lena Silver, the eldest daughter of one of Boston’s most prominent law enforcement families.
The Silver family includes district attorney Mae Silver, Boston PD detective Lena Silver, police superintendent Sarah Silver, rookie officer Jonah Silver, and respected Baptist pastor Reverend Edwin Peters. As Reagan adjusts to life in Boston, he also hopes to rebuild his relationship with his younger son, Sean, who is beginning his own career in the city.
