CBS will officially launch Boston Blue, the highly anticipated Blue Bloods spinoff, on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The new series picks up Danny Reagan’s story as he starts over in a new city, with Donnie Wahlberg returning to lead the next chapter of the Reagan legacy.
Season 1 features a standout ensemble, including Sonequa Martin-Green as Lena Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, and Mika Amonson as Sean Reagan. Gloria Reuben joins the cast as Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson stars as Reverend Edwin Peters.
Episode 1 Plot
In the series premiere, NYPD Detective Danny Reagan teams up with Boston Detective Lena Silver to investigate a deadly fire at a tech company. Their case quickly expands into a complex conspiracy involving facial recognition technology, dangerous family secrets, and a pursuit of justice that intertwines the Reagan and Silver families in unexpected ways.
The premiere is directed by Anthony Hemingway from a story by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier.
Series Description
Boston Blue expands the universe of the long-running hit Blue Bloods, with Donnie Wahlberg reprising his role as NYPD Detective Danny Reagan. In this new chapter, Reagan joins the Boston Police Department and is partnered with Detective Lena Silver, the eldest daughter of a prominent local law enforcement family.
