The Reagan Family Dinner Table Could Be Set Again: Fans Await Blue Bloods Season 15 News

Boston Blue Season 2: Everything We Know About the Return of the Blue Bloods Spinoff

CBS has given fans of Boston Blue plenty of reason to celebrate. The Blue Bloods spinoff quickly became one of the standout new dramas of fall 2025, leading the network to renew the series for a second season just weeks after its debut.

CBS officially renewed Boston Blue along with another Friday night drama, Sheriff Country, on December 3, following their premieres on October 17. The first season is set to conclude on May 22, with a finale expected to leave viewers with a major cliffhanger.

With CBS already revealing its fall 2026 schedule, anticipation is building for the next chapter of the Reagan and Silver families.

When Will Boston Blue Season 2 Premiere?

Boston Blue continues the story of Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), who leaves New York behind to begin a new chapter in Boston alongside his son, Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen).

In Boston, Danny becomes connected with the Silver family, a respected law enforcement family, and begins working alongside Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green). Their partnership quickly becomes one of the central relationships of the series.

Season 2 of Boston Blue is expected to premiere in fall 2026 on CBS.

What Time Will Boston Blue Air?

The series took over the Friday night time slot previously held by Blue Bloods and is expected to remain in that position for its second season.

The familiar scheduling choice allows fans of the original series to continue following a police drama in the same Friday night tradition.

Who Will Return for Season 2?

The main cast is expected to continue with:

  • Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan
  • Sonequa Martin-Green as Detective Lena Silver
  • Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan
  • Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver
  • Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver
  • Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver
  • Ernie Hudson as Reverend Edwin Peters

The series has also welcomed several familiar faces from the Blue Bloods universe. Marisa Ramirez has appeared as Detective Maria Baez, while Bridget Moynahan returned as Erin Reagan-Boyle. Moynahan also stepped behind the camera to direct an episode during the season.

Additionally, Len Cariou reprised his role as Henry Reagan, and Will Hochman returned as Joe Hill in the Season 1 finale.

Danny and Baez’s Relationship Faces New Challenges

One of the biggest emotional storylines in Boston Blue has been the relationship between Danny Reagan and Detective Maria Baez.

After years of viewers hoping to see the pair become more than partners, the series finally explored their romantic relationship. However, their long-distance situation has created new challenges, and the couple experienced a breakup during Season 1.

Despite the setback, fans are hopeful that Danny and Baez could find their way back to each other as the story continues.

With new family dynamics, returning favorites, and unresolved relationships, Season 2 of Boston Blue is shaping up to expand the legacy of the Blue Bloods universe while creating its own identity.
